about

This is track 12 on my album written and recorded during the month of February 2021 as part of the annual February Album Writing Month challenge, asking participants to write 14 songs in 28 days. Rules can be found at fawm.org/help/.

The album A Million Boxes is inspired by personal life events and plays in chronological order. All of these tracks were recorded in one take using my phone and the DolbyOn app. Most songs were written in under an hour.

lyrics

God damn if I don't know
The last thing you said
Cuz I had a mind to write you a song instead

I'll dream another dream
On waking I'll just
Sigh another sigh
And it's gone gone gone
Like it never was

I tried to stay awake
But the night came out on top
And it plays like a matinee
I'm in the back row sleeping it off

So 'll dream another dream
On waking I'll just
Sigh another sigh
And it's gone gone gone
Like it never was

I can't forget the line
I baited with my breath
And it's all a waiting game
So I think I'll stay in bed

And dream another dream
On waking I'll just
Sigh another sigh
And it's gone gone gone
Like I never

Dream another dream
On waking I'll just
Sigh another sigh
And it's gone gone gone
Like it never

Gone gone gone
Like it never was
